Raymond Feng is an STSM & Architect at IBM, responsible for developing LoopBack (loopback.io), a popular open source API framework in Node.js. Prior to the current role, he was a co-founder at StrongLoop (acquired by IBM in 2015), a startup dedicated to enabling Node.js for enterprise adoption. At StrongLoop, Raymond co-created the LoopBack framework in 2013, envisioning a sweet spot to unleash Node.js for API creation and composition. He transitioned himself from an Enterprise Java developer to a Node.js practitioner. Prior to StrongLoop, Raymond spent many years in building business integration/SOA platforms, mobile/API backends, and DevOps infrastructure for commercial products and in open source, at companies including Shutterfly and IBM. He is a member of Apache Software Foundation and a co-author of Tuscany SCA in Action by Manning. Raymond spoke at many conferences such as JavaOne, SOA World, SIGMOD, and IBM Interconnect.
